The *Joy* of Summertime

An open letter to my 5 year old: Honey, I love you. I love that you’re so enthusiastic about art. I love that you’re proud of your art, but it’s time to sit down and have an honest conversation. When I’m working, I need to work. Now, my work can be anything from reading to … Continue reading The *Joy* of Summertime

#CockyGate

Oh, Twitter. For those of you not following the roasting of a certain author on Twitter this past weekend, you missed a fun time. And, also a scary one. #CockyGate: A romance author sought and received a trademark on the individual word "cocky" in all forms using a stylized font, enforceable in the romance genre. … Continue reading #CockyGate

Twitter in the KidLit Community

Anyone who's been on Twitter for five minutes knows it's a beast. Fast paced and ever evolving, Twitter is a social media platform that never stops. I joined Twitter in 2010. Back then it was basic, not everyone was there yet, and most people were just trying to figure out what it was and how … Continue reading Twitter in the KidLit Community
